Tourettes sur Loup wedding

I was looking forward to this wedding for almost a year. France… French Riviera, Cote d’Azur, Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Provence, Lavender

s…. These items were on my “must see list” for so long! And finally, I was given the chance to see them for real and thus planned to spend more than a weekend in France to make it all happen. I spent the last week of August in Nice with my partner and it really were one of the best holidays ever. We didn’t have a chance to see much from the French riviera in fact… but what we’ve experienced in Nice was perfect enough. The French lifestyle, humble people, hospitality, good food (+a lot of wine) and as a cherry on the cake – the sea. Heaven on earth.

I wasn’t the only one who had to travel to Provence for this wedding. Even the groom and bride weren’t locals and all the guests as well as the DJ came from the Netherlands – destination wedding for everyone.
The wedding day took place in a small medieval town named Tourrettes-Sur-Loup where the groom’s parents owned a house (which also served as the place for evening reception later on).

About the couple… Alexa and Michiel are together for 16 years already… and they are the living proof that you can be still in love even after so many years of dating. The strongest moments for me were their first moment in the garden (Michiel was so emotional and surprised by his soon-to-be wife) and the moments with kids during the ceremony. I also liked the cake made by Alexa’s best friend a lot – she baked the cake and let the girls decorate it as a wedding surprise for parents.The mood of the wedding was perfectly laid back.

Alexa chose stylish and simple table setting that perfectly fit into the surrounding landscape. Rosemary, lavenders and small bulbs created a really nice mood during the dinner.
