10/3/16
Here I go. 2016. New wedding season is slowly starting and for me the beginning was little unexpected. Bara looked for a wedding photographer in the last minute, because her photographer had an accident. We met for a coffee exactly 7 days before everything started.
In her inquiry, Bara said: “I am looking for a photographer. My wedding is going to be small and weird.” That sparked my interest because I love alternative, non-traditional things (and weird things all around!) We met at the cozy cafe in Prague (Home Kitchen, which I absolutely adore!) and from a first look we knew this relationship is going to work. It was like I met old friends, not any ordinary clients. The vibes and feelings gave me opportunity one week later to slip quietly into their home and capture intimate moments when they both dressed each other. Smoking cigarettes in lingerie and chatting about life and normal things.
From the wedding morning, I was impressed by those two. There was no rush, no stress. There were just the two of them, love and peace. And probably because of the overall calm atmosphere this wedding was so easy to capture. There were no traditions, no hidden dress, no first look, no first dance, yet it was a perfect wedding.
Since the wedding venue was Trmalova Villa designed by famous Czech architect Jan Kotera and the villa itself is very colorful, they aligned with their decorations. The table settings were complimented with old Czech plates called “cibulák” and here and there you could see partially-hidden blue dinosaur (yes, good mood keepers!). Even the food was rustic, homemade and served by the groom and the bride.
After the meal, we went to the skate park Gutovka, where we engaged few talented little boys to help us with the pics. You can see little men riding a three-wheeler in the background. The rest of the celebration took place back in the backyard of the Villa.
Thank you, Bara and Dan. I couldn’t imagine the better start of new season.
